Frist Wealth Sky Rockets While Tens of Thousands of HCA Workers Live in Poverty
In the past week, the personal wealth of HCA founders and largest shareholders, the Frists, climbed to more than $17.5 billion as of June 10—an increase of over $10 billion dollars since the pandemic began last spring. That’s a roughly $4 million per hour increase (assuming a 40 hour work week), and is nearly 315,000 times the hourly wage ($12.50) of many of the company’s frontline workers.
Complaints Mounting in North Carolina
116 complaints have been filed against HCA so far over their Mission Health acquisition, with the majority being related to issues of care and treatment of patients and workers.
