HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress at capacity with COVID uptick
The raging delta variant of the COVID-19 virus has left emergency rooms and hospitals across Harris County crowded with patients seeking help. HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress is not on “drive-by” status — meaning a hospital has no more room for patients — just yet, an unenviable position no hospital wants to incur, but they are feeling the pressure.
“We’re still available for EMS traffic,” said HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress CEO Jim Brown, “however, when capacity constraints occur, we may implement temporary ‘transfer closure,’ which limits transfers to our hospital from other facilities.”
